SG Featured at Itsy Bitsy Paper

It's always nice when someone pays you a compliment.  It just makes you feel good.  It's really nice when that someone takes time to feature you on their blog.  :)

Lindy at ItsyBitsyPaper did just that today on her blog.  She put together a beautiful collection of pretty Honeysuckle Pink items from various Etsy sellers.  She was kind enough to include a SG Wristlet Key Fob in the mix.  Lindy's blog is beautiful!  Be sure to take a look around when you go look at today's post.

Black Damask . . . an explanation

Change is hard sometimes.  We like the status quo, for the most part.  I wanted to explain a change at Sew Gracious to avoid throwing you a curve ball and hopefully to avoid confusion for my customers.   This is important info so I hope you have time to give it a read.  :)
Black damask is one of the most popular fabrics today.  Brides use it for their weddings, we decorate our homes with it . . . and Sew Gracious offers all items in several kinds of black damask.

The first black damask offered at SG was Dandy Damask by Michael Miller:This fabric is still available and known in the SG Etsy shop as Black Damask

Then, along came a great new damask.  Because it was the 2nd form of black damask offered in the shop, it was called Black Damask Too.  It was a fun play on words to convey this fabric was also black damask, but in a different form.

All was well & good . . .  then manufacturer introduced a new Black Damask.  It is one that I've wanted for years, but it has only recently become available.  It did however throw a glitch in the naming process.  The 3rd Black Damask is this one:

I had a dilemma.  Another black damask.  What was I going to call it?  After a lot of thought, I decided to change the names in my Etsy Shop. 

This 3rd Black Damask is now known as BLACK DAMASK TOO.  It is, after all, another black damask in the style of the original . . . white on a black background.

The 2nd Black Damask is now known as REVERSE BLACK DAMASK TOO because it is black on a white background.

The changes have been implemented in the Etsy shop as of 6.11.10.  All items are described accordingly so hopefully there won't be any confusion for my customers.

Bad Blogger

Ok.  Obviously my blog needs a little love.  I knew I hadn't blogged in a few days, but didn't realize it's been 2 weeks.

In my defense, it has been a busy 2 weeks.   I've been:

sewing like crazy; catching up on orders that came in during my vacation
working with several smart brides got their bridesmaids from me on Etsy
working new items
going to Little Gracious's softball games 
celebrating that Little Gracious made the volleyball team at her school for next year
planting our veggie garden {pictures to come soon}
planting annuals {more pictures to come soon}
dodging some typical Southern severe weather
getting back to working out regularly {attempting it anyway}
having some landscaping done {major project that would be hard for us to do alone}

I could tell you more, but I think you get the idea.  Real life happens.

I have been posting on Facebook regularly so you can become a fan to stay updated {or now that they've changed things again, you have to "like" me}.  I hope you like me anyway.  :)

I promise to try to be a better blogger. May is going to be a super busy month but I have SO much new fabric that is calling my name.  Hang in there with me!

It's ELECTRIC!

I love Etsy. 

Today is another day in a week filled will dreary, rainy, chilly days. 
It's not a Monday, but not quite the weekend either.
Blah.
Meh.
Whatever.

On my way through the family room, I stopped by the laptop to check my email when I clicked on the Etsy Finds email that I receive regularly.   Somedays I love it, somedays . . .  well, it's ok.  Today was a good day. WOW!  Bursting with color, bright & cheerful.  The perfect little pick-me-up on this gray day. :)  Thanks, Etsy.

Then as I scrolled down to see of the lovlies, hand-picked by Etsy,  I was ecstatic to see that they have featured this reversible bin in today's picks! Yippee Skippy!

A Tisket, A Tasket : 2 New Baskets

Fabric baskets have quickly become a customer favorite. They are perfect little Easter baskets, but can also be used for home decor. Cute for candy, sweet for soap or towels in the bathroom or a nice gift for a friend. Fill it with flavor coffee, teas or CHOCOLATE! ;)

Remember my recent post about vinyl wall decals? Well . . .

Here is the first decal I'm using in my redecorating endeavor. Don't you LOVE it? It is matte black and looks as if it were professionally painted. It was SO easy to apply too. The hardest part was deciding exactly where in my kitchen I wanted to put it. I opted for this wall, a short pass through from the family room into the kitchen. It's just perfect; especially with my prints.

I got this decal from Inspire Your Walls. Hollie was so great to work with and shipped the order super fast. She has a great website and a wonderful Etsy shop full of cool designs for family, tweens, kids; inspired quotes and more. She offers tons of colors & fonts too.

I just loved the way this turned out so I had to share. This is my first decal, but won't be my last. Happy Decorating!

Perfectly Pyrex : Etsy Treasury

Remember this post from May? It's about ad space on the the Sew Gracious blog. The amount of daily traffic has just about doubled since the original post so I decided it was time to mention ad space again. If you had been advertising during my giveaway; just imagine how many people would have seen your ad. Over 300 people left a comment. That's probably about half of the number who visited and didn't leave a comment. Think of the exposure you could have gotten! :-)

A Damask Treasury

Have you see this beautiful Etsy treasury? It was created by adorablemeboutique. It was her very first treasury on Etsy and look what a beautiful job! Damask is one of my favorite fabrics and looks like alot of other people feel the same.

Being chosen for a treasury is such an honor. Many times it's an acknowledgement of your work from a peer; as in this case. Adoreableme also sews. Her shop is filled with the most precious a-line jumpers, pillowcase dresses and more. It's even more special because we don't know each other.
