Spring Break in Sew Gracious-ville

Finally . . . almost . . . SPRING BREAK!

but there is still work to be done!

Spring Break coincides with Easter for us this year.  That creates some challenges for things in the ol' SG Etsy Shop.  This has been the biggest year yet for SG Easter Baskets.  I'm happy, I'm blessed and I'm sewing like crazy!  :)

I have established a work schedule to accomodate orders, but still have time to get ready for vacation. It's hard to get all of the details in the shop announcements at Etsy so I wanted to explain things here.

  • April 11-24 : Orders placed during this time will go into production the week of April 25
  • All Easter Baskets & Organizer Bins currently listed in the shop are READY TO SHIP and can be mailed until April 14
  • Easter Baskets ordered before April 3 will ship by April 14
  • Some items {including wallets and organizer bins} have been temporarily removed from the shop to allow time to finish pending Easter Basket orders before spring break.  These items will be activated in the shop around April 15
  • April 15-24 : The Etsy shop will remain open for your shopping convenience, I will check convos but not as often as usual.  No orders will be in production and no shipments will be made.
If you have questions about a pending order, please contact me via Etsy.

Have you had your Spring Break yet?  What did you do?

Easter Basket Order Deadline

Easter Basket DeadlineSunday April 3, 2011

Easter is coming soon and the SG studio is overflowing with orders for Easter Baskets!  It's a good thing, but there are only so many hours in the day.   This one-woman show will be busy for the next week or so. :) In order to have time to sew and ship in time for Easter, the last day to order Easter Baskets is this Sunday, April 3, 2011.

After that date, any Easter Baskets listed in the shop will be ready-to-ship.  If time permits, there will be some OOAK {one of a kind} Baskets listed beginning Monday April 4.

Spring Break is coming up in Sew Gracious-ville too ... tentatively April 13-April 24.  No orders will be processed or shipped during that time.

Fabric Easter Baskets are back for 2011

Sew Gracious Easter Baskets are always a customer favorite.  Easter is April 24 this year so it's a great time to shop early while the selection is still good.  Most Easter fabrics are available in very small quantities.  This means that sometimes only 2 or 3 baskets in a particular fabric will be available.

I do receive a number of questions about monogramming baskets.  Before I came to Etsy, the majority of my business was monogramming.  After offer the service for several years, I decided to take a break for now; however your basket can still be monogrammed!  If you have a local embroidery/monogram shop, they should be able to personalized the finished basket for about the same price that I would have charged.   Shops that specialize in monogramming generally have large, professional embroidery machines that can handle finished items.  You've probably seen some in the mall too.  Most malls have a kiosk that offers personalized luggage, backpacks, etc.

You can see all the Sew Gracious Easter Baskets here.  Also, most any Easter Basket can be made into an Organizer Bin . . . and most any Organizer Bin can be made into an Easter Basket.   How cool is that?  Just contact me via Etsy to order!

Worthy Is The Lamb

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it's true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

You can post your interpretation of God's Fingerprint and share at The Rusted Chain

Easter Baskets are Back!

Easter Baskets have been so popular with Sew Gracious customers for the past few years so I'm always on the look out for fun new fabric.

Ta-daaaah!

These are 3 of the new fabrics for 2010 Easter Baskets.  A couple these baskets have already sold & been relisted so don't miss out on yours.  These are sure to be popular for this spring.

Handles have been improved for this year's baskets.  I've made them a little wider, a tad shorter and reinforced them for even more durability.  The basket itself is also interfaced differently than in years past to make it even better.

Easter is Sunday April 4 this year.  It will be here before you know it! :)  Click here to see all of the Sew Gracious Easter Baskets in the shop.

Reversible Organizer Bins for 2010

If you've been a Sew Gracious customer, fan or follower since November 1, 2009 when they were first introduced; you know that Reversible Organizer Baskets were extremely popular during the Christmas season. So many customers asked if I would continue to offer them in the new year.

The answer is YES!

I appreciate so many of you letting me know that you love them! The first of the new bins for 2010 were listed in the shop this week.

ultra preppy : reverses to pink & green polka dots!
This one is sure to be a best-seller

Fun, Asian-inspired Yui Kokeshi fabric lined with Amy Butler dots
2D Zoo in blue!
How cute would this or the Polka Dot Puppy be for a baby shower?
Fill it with diapers or baby gear for a cute gift that Mom can use in the nursery!

polka dot puppy
the perfect place to keep your Valentines
Some of your favorite fabrics are already available, but you'll also find some new fabrics as well as cute Valentine prints. These are just the first of TONS of new fabrics that will be available.
The bins are reversible so the interior is a complementary fabric. If you like the outside fabric, but prefer a solid color lining, that's no problem. Simply purchase the basket you like and let me know in your notes to seller at checkout. I'll make the change for you AND refund $2.00 to your Paypal account. Bins with solid linings are $18 while those with a coordinating print are $20. Not a bad price for getting 2 baskets in 1.
You may also remember last years Easter baskets with the single handle. Any organizer bin is available as a single handle basket. Just as above, make your purchase and note your desired change at checkout.
Keep watching for new fabrics. My work table is piled high with great fabric combinations that you will seeing soon!

Not Your Average Easter Basket

Who says an Easter basket has to be pink & yellow with chicks & bunnies? How about a little zing in the spring holiday?

I give you . . . Easter Monkeys! Ok, I know monkeys aren't associated with Easter, but this is THE CUTEST fabric in sweet preppy shades of pink & green. It might be the perfect basket for YOUR Little Monkey!

This one certainly falls under the non-traditional category. :) After seeing the Zebra print Wristlet Key Fob, a sweet customer contacted me to ask if I could create a custom Easter basket in the same colors. Here it is! How cute is this! Traditional Hot Pink & Black for your stylish girl!

Visit the Sew Gracious Etsy Shop for these and lots more fabric Easter Baskets!

The Last Princess

If you've visited The Shop lately, you've seen my fabric baskets. This little fabric basket is the last one I will make from this fabric. { :( I know }

I used the very last piece of this long out-of-print fabric by Michael Miller to make this cute basket. It is the ultimate girly-princess-fairy tale-pink & purple-silvery fabric ever. It's been in my stash for several years and I pulled it out last year to make some baskets. They were a huge hit with customers so I decided to finish the fabric by making a customer favorite. What's not to love?

So, fair warning . . . here she is. If you love, get her now.
