Do you know about Hawthorne Threads?  If you don't and you love fabric, you should!  I first discovered Hawthorne Threads on Etsy.  Now they have their own website and it is wonderful!  Their tagline has always been "two love birds who love fabric".  Well, I love fabric too so I knew they were perfect for me!   HT is owned by Lindsay  and Charlie . . a sweet couple who do love fabric.  They are dedicated to their business too.  They have a great blog, send regular newsletter updates and hit Quilt Market wide open!  If you don't know, Quilt Market is where is the fabric is released.  It's like a giant mall for fabric shops.  Good stuff!

BUNCO Hostess with the Mostest!

I may be the only woman in America who isn't in a Bunco group.  It's OK.  I don't think I could commit the time right now, but someday!  As I hear friends talk about bunco, it sounds like a hoot & some really good girl time.  A few laughs, some good food, a little drink, friendly competition.   What's not to love about that!

I don't know if this is commonplace, but I know of one bunco group who will be receiving some nice little gifts from their hostess soon.  A customer who has shopped with me many times in the past recently contacted me about ordering some mini keyfobs.  I was thrilled to have her business again and just assumed she was gearing up for teacher appreciation at the end of the school year.  {It's a great time to do that.  Beat the rush and check it off your to-do list.  Just sayin'}

My customer asked for bright spring colors and allowed me to simply "create" for her.  Those kinds of orders are the most fun.  I get creative license and have a great time doing it.  You can see what I made for her in the picture above.  Ah, spring!

She let me know that she was giving the keyfobs as gifts the next time she was the bunco hostess.  Well, how cool is that?   I say she is definitely The Hostess with the Mostest!  I didn't know hostesses gave gifts to their guests each month.  Maybe it's just their group.  At any rate, don't you think that's a wonderful idea?  Me, too!

Pink Punch . Paris :: New Pretties

It's been busy in the studio lately and I love it!
I've been enjoying working with some new fabric like this one.  I call it Pink Punch because it reminds me of a Vera Bradley print.  This isn't Vera, but I still love the colors & design.

This is one of the newest organizer bins, but I've always used Pink Punch for lots of other favorite accessories in the shop.

Back to School

It's that time of year. Schools in our area start this week. Summer has been short, but it is time for some structure again. All of the notebooks, pens & markers have been purchased. We've attended Open House and met this year's AWESOME TEACHER! It's going to be a great year!

Admittedly, I've been less focused on work and more focused on family this summer. That's the beauty of being a work-at-home-mom. My Etsy shop has suffered a bit maybe, but my family hasn't. It's a good thing & I'm happy.

Now that school is starting, I will be spending more time in the sewing room. {YEA!} I have TONS of new wallets finished. I just need to take pictures, edit & load the listings. The Last Princess

If you've visited The Shop lately, you've seen my fabric baskets. This little fabric basket is the last one I will make from this fabric. { :( I know }

I used the very last piece of this long out-of-print fabric by Michael Miller to make this cute basket. It is the ultimate girly-princess-fairy tale-pink & purple-silvery fabric ever. It's been in my stash for several years and I pulled it out last year to make some baskets. They were a huge hit with customers so I decided to finish the fabric by making a customer favorite. What's not to love?

I ♥ DAMASK

I love any kind of fabric, but damask has become one of my most favorite patterns. I could not wait to make something with the newest damasks to make their way into my studio. Here are some brand new accessories made with the new Apple Green Damask and the new Pink & Green Damask. Brand New for 2009.

I have to say, I'm still working to get the perfect pictures of this beautiful fabrics. Green tends to be one of the most difficult colors for me to capture. Even with photo editing, it can look too gold or brassy. Rest assured that these are classic, perfect pinks & greens.
