Home Again, Home Again

Coming home after a vacation can be bittersweet. Yes, it's great to sleep in your own bed again, but it's hard not to miss the week just past. A carefree week with very little cooking, lots of relaxing, family time and some beautiful scenery.

That's where I am today . . . trying to catch up on mail & email; get Etsy purchases ready to ship, start processing monogramming orders from the website; update the blog, etc. I'm getting back to the general busy-ness of business. :-)

I did the laundry yesterday. [did I hear a collective UGH! ? ;-) ] Even though I did some washing while on vacation, I still had mountains to do yesterday. I had to wonder if the neighbors dropped their laundry off while I was away. Now if they would just come back to fold it!

The weather was sunny all week; but it was a little cooler than we expected or hoped for April. There were a couple of days that we decided to skip the beach all together. It was just too cold so we shopped instead! Even as the week warmed up, it was so windy on the beach that it felt cooler than it should have. I still can't complain . . . after all, it's still the beach!

Here are just a few pictures from our trip. I've saved more of my favorites for Wordless Wednesdays and later posts so keep checking back. I'll share more pictures, talk about my beach book & more. ;-)

Playing Catch

Playing Catch-UP, that is! :-)

I always try to share pics of my latest bags here on my blog. Today is the day for some SERIOUS catching up. If you haven't visited my Etsy shop lately, you may not have seen this pretty new bags yet.

ELEGANT is the new Black!
I love this combination of fabrics from Anna Griffin. What's more classic than damask & toile done in black & white? A bonus matching tissue cover comes along with this bag. Click the pic or click here to get it in my Etsy shop!

Pink & Green Chic
This one has a shabby chic flavor with the combination of colors & patterns. I LOVE this new pink damask from Anna Griffin. It pairs beautiful with dots from Amy Butler & Heather Bailey. Matching accessories (tissue cover & mini wallet) are also available in my Etsy shop! ;-) Click the pic or click here to treat yourself to this awesome OOAK bag!

Cocoa Blue
Another OOAK bag, feature fabrics from Amy Butler & Anna Griffin. The combination of the watery, spa blues with cocoa brown, makes this a great bag for year round. The damask and the scroll fabric create a cool elegance with a chic touch. Click the pic or click here for more.

More Amy-ness
It's hard to beat pink & green together; especially when it's all from the Nigella Collection by Amy Butler. If you're not familar with Nigella, this fabric is a little bit heavier weight than standard quilting cotton. It has a twill texture and makes the perfect bag. This one is also OOAK (one of a kind).

All of these beautiful bags are OOAK, one of a kind, and are ready to ship.
You could have one in time for Easter
if you're in a shopping mood today

What a Cutie!

She is cute, isn't she! Don't you love this happy mermaid?

The fun colors in the mermaid fabric are perfectly accented by the Tangerine Full Moon Dots on top and the Kiwi Ironworks on the bottom. I even applique'd an extra little shell right there... by her tail. :-)

This bag is a bit larger which makes it great for trips to the beach, vacation or even a fun diaper bag. Of course, it would make a wonderful market tote or handbag as well.

You can see more pics (including the back....Heather Bailey fabric there) by clicking the pic or right here.

Friday the 13th

Although I'm not superstitious, it do always take note of Friday the 13th. I wouldn't say I suffer from paraskavedekatriaphobia ; however some reports claim it can affect the national economy.

When I was a child, I remember my Granny stayed home on Friday the 13th, didn't walk under ladders and would change her path if she saw a black cat. If she broke a mirror, she was doomed for 7 years. :-) Luckily, I learned lots of GOOD THINGS from my Granny, too. She taught me to use a needle and thread when I was 4 years old...and the rest is history.

In my effort to celebrate this day & thank my sweet Granny in heaven for teaching me to sew, I have listed 13 bags! WOW! Now that's alot of sewing!

One of my favorites is this OOAK (one of a kind) bag made from a variety of fabrics from the Charm Collection by Amy Butler : The Ultimate Bag!.. I was tempted to keep this one for myself, but then I would have only 12 bags to list.

Here's another new OOAK bag; also made with Amy Butler fabric, from the Belle collection.

For those who love Heather Bailey's FRESH CUT, here is my latest using her beautiful fabric.
