11/11/11 Thank you, Veterans
Thank you!
Two simple words which seem so inadequate for today.
Veterans and their family have served our country proudly and continue to do so. They are true heroes. They protect our country and uphold our Constitution. Their service keeps our country safe, assuring that rights are protected.
Thank you, Veterans and current service members! Your service is not forgotten nor taken for granted in our home. Your families sacrifice as you do. We thank them as well.
May God protect you whereever you service!

It's been 10 years ...
10 years have passed
where were you when you heard?
how did you feel?
what did you do?
Please don't forget what happened then
in New York, in Washington DC & Pennsylvania
and don't forget those who protect our country today.
and don't forget those who protect our country today.
Thank you to the heroes, those we know and the unsung heroes who serve quietly.
. . .don't forget

A Memorial Day Thank You!
Dear Men & Woman of our Military,
Thank you! Thank you for the service you give, the sacrifices you make, that you put yourselves in harms' way every day. You don't do it for glory or praise or accolades. You do it because you are proud Americans. Your brothers & sisters in arms did it before you. Some of them paid the ultimate sacrifce, but they all sacrificed something. Maybe their time was spent in the battlefield while a baby was being born back home. Maybe they saw a "brother" take his last breath in a rice paddy in Vietnam. Perhaps they lost their own life to save the lives of many others in their squad. They were brave beyond compare... just like you. Maybe It is because of their example that you serve today.
Your families serve also. They may not be on the front lines, but they have their own front lines. They keep life going back home. Lots of single moms & dads are carrying the load of both parents while one is away; protecting our country. Their sacrifice must not go unnoticed. They keep you going when nothing else does.
This family will always be humbled & honored by your service. Because of you, we can sleep soundly at night. Because of you, we can proudly fly our flag...and we do.
Thank you is not enough.
With humble respect & appreciation,
The Sew Gracious Family

VOTE : Today is Election Day
The mid-term elections are today. Voting is a priviledge and people have shed blood to protect that priviledge. Our founding fathers came here to escape an overbearing goverment. They came here to avoid religious persecution and taxation without representation so they could establish a government that was for the people, by the people. They were ruled by a monarch; one who infiltrated every aspect of their lives. They had no freedom. They came here, fought many bloody battles, but in the end the people prevailed.
As I look at our country today, I wonder what our founding fathers would say if they were here today. They would probably be very sad; feeling that their efforts were in vain. They would see a government that is infiltrating every aspect of our lives. They would see an insane amount of taxes, earmarks and goverment waste. They would see career politicians who are more interested in building their own wealth rather creating an political/economic environment where their constituents have an opportunity to flourish. The founding fathers would see the highest leaders in that land pushing through policies that the people do not support. I believe the founding fathers would be so disappointed in the state of affairs in 2010.
The good news is that today is the first step toward REAL change. It's an opportunity for the people to beginning taking back OUR government. It is the chance to make our voices heard and heard loudly; in Washington and locally.
I have heard some people say that they like neither candidate for an office so they just won't vote at all because they don't want to support "the lesser of two evils". By not voting at all, they are only serving "the greater of two evils".
Remember to vote today. Our country, our economy, our future, our children are depending on your effort.

Fingerprint Friday : Believe
We all need to believe in something.
I believe in God as my Creator.
I believe in Jesus as my Savior.
I believe in this country and the original intent of our founding fathers.
I believe in freedom {although it is never free}
I believe in peace {although sometimes we have to fight for it}
This Fingerprint is a reminder of all those things.
Did you notice the details?
The cross necklace,
the peace sign

Memorial Day
With appreciation for the brave men & women who have served this country,
those who have given the ultimate sacrifice,
their families,
those who serve today so that we can be free,
those whose service allows freedom of speech, freedom of opinions, freedom of religion,
those who serve proudly & deserve respect, but don't always get it
those who serve is taken for granted by some, but they still serve faithfully,
those who serve humbly, honorably & quietly.
Thank you.
Patriotism seems to be waning, but we cannot forget what has made our country so great.
Fly a flag, thank a veteran, be proud to be an American!
Freedom is not free.
