Ok...the Big Turkey Day is only 2 days away. Is your menu planned for Thanksgiving? Are you making things ahead of time so it's not a big rush on Thursday? Have you been to the grocery store yet? I went early this morning and avoided the horrible crowd that I KNOW was there this afternoon. ;-)
I live in the South so I'll be making cornbread dressing! I don't use a recipe because my Mother taught me to make it & she never measure anything. This recipe is pretty similar to what I make. Yes, I do follow recipes and I love cookbooks, but usually have to change a little something to make it my own.
Of course we will have turkey, cranberry sauce (we have some with berries and some without, to make everyone in the family happy), potatoes, green bean casserole (here's the recipe to classic green bean casserole), my moms' sweet potato casserole & layered chocolate pie and strawberry pretzel salad (a family favorite).
I plan to set the table tomorrow with my china. I should use it more often, but right now it just comes out for Thanksgiving. It's a discontinued Mikasa pattern which I still like even 20+ years after I got it.
